Step-by-Step Guide: Customizing Anatomical Presets on Your Summit Console

Description: Follow these instructions to program your own preferred kVp and mAs settings for various anatomical views. Customizing your presets will help create a faster and more consistent workflow.

1. Enter the Preset Editing Mode

First, we need to get to the main setup screen.

  • Start with the machine turned OFF.
  • Now, press and hold the "BACK" button.

  • While you are still holding the "BACK" button, press the "ON" button to turn the console on.
  • You can release both buttons once you see the "CAL BOOTUP" screen appear:

2. Choose to Edit Your Presets

Now that you're in the setup menu, you can start editing.

  • On the screen, you will see a list of options. Using the up/down arrow buttons next to the screen, select "EDIT AP MODE". This option lets you make changes to the technique database.
3. Change the Technique Factors

This is where you'll enter your preferred kVp and mAs for different exams.

  • Select the body part and view that you want to set up.
  • Use the arrow buttons on the console to highlight the values you want to change (like kVp or mAs).
  • Adjust them up or down to your desired settings.
  • Repeat this for any other presets you want to create or change.
4. Save Your New Presets

This is the most important step! Make sure to save your work before you exit.

  • Once you are happy with your new settings for a preset, look for a button or an on-screen option that says "SAVE" or "STORE". Press it to save the changes you've made.
  • When you are all done setting up your presets, press the "BACK" button to return to the main setup screen.
5. Exit and Return to Normal Operation

Finally, let's get back to the regular X-ray screen.

  • From the "CAL BOOTUP" screen, select the option that says "EXIT TO RAD".
  • This will take you back to the normal operating screen, and your new presets will be ready to use.
